This week’s special has origins dating back to the times of Sicilian and Neapolitan sailors. One version is that ‘ladies of evening’ would cook this up as a pasta sauce to entice visiting sailors into their premises. Whatever the true story we’re just happy that this flavour combination translates deliciously onto pizza…
So on a napoli base we sprinkle some provolone, add fresh tomato, fresh basil, kalamata olives, white anchovies and baby capers – if you can handle it, it’s also great with chilli. It’s seriously delicious!
